According to a recent study, the chances of developing prostate cancer increase when you follow an unhealthy diet. At the same time, a healthy diet does not affect this risk in any way.

During the study, experts evaluated the diet of 15,296 men from Spain. Also, the data were taken for the period from 1992 to 1996. The food choices are divided into Mediterranean, Prudent and Western diets. The first two eating patterns are considered healthy.

It turned out that healthy diets had no effect on the risk of developing prostate cancer. However, the Western diet had a detrimental effect, and this effect was only in aggressive tumors.

The results of the study show that the best nutritional strategy to protect against aggressive prostate cancer is to avoid unhealthy foods.
