For nearly 10,000 years, horses have been used for transportation, farming, and even warfare. Today, horses are primarily used for recreation and sport, but researchers say we can still learn from this age-old interaction.
Eacta Jain, professor of computer and information science and engineering at the University of Florida, has spent a year doing fieldwork observing the specific interactions between horses and humans. She believes that robots enter our lives and workplaces like horses as companions and companions. They can sweep our floors, educate and entertain our children, and even be used as effective therapeutics.
The work involved interdisciplinary collaboration of experts in engineering, animal science, and qualitative research methodology. The results obtained can be used by human-robot interaction researchers and robot developers.
