Previously, Aeroflot has automated almost all internal business processes using SAP, Saber and Lufthansa Systems. However, the airline plans to launch more than 40 domestic software initiatives to comply with the Russian government’s guidelines to spend 70% of its IT budget on local products by 2024.

The airline’s updated digital transformation strategy aims to replace 84 foreign software products by the end of 2024 and 100% Russian alternatives by 2030.

One of the publication sources suggests that Aeroflot may receive a subsidy of 8 billion rubles from the state for SAP import substitution.
