A blogger from the Michael MJD channel posted a video showing the process of installing Mac OS 9 on the Nintendo Wii.

The game console is based on the Broadway processor based on the IBM PowerPC architecture, a 32-bit analog PowerPC 750CL model with a clock speed of 729 MHz, very close to the PowerPC G3, which was installed in Macintosh computers in the late nineties.

During the video, he used the development of the Mac-on-Linux project. It allows you to run Mac OS on machines designed for Linux.

For the system to work, it was necessary to modify a number of files, some of which he took from the GBATEMP forum. However, here too there are problems, in particular, with the description of fonts, the operation of sound and the Internet.

Ultimately, the enthusiast was able to solve a number of problems, but some of them remained. Some fonts were still broken on the Nintendo Wii, running DOOM runs at a rate of a couple of seconds at best. But the main thing is that Mac OS 9 can be purchased on the Wii.
