During Apple’s earnings call, Tim Cook commented for the first time on the development of ChatGPT and other chatbots.

Cook stated that the potential for AI development is “very interesting”, however noted that there is a thematic “number of questions that need to be addressed” with technology and that it is “very important to be upfront and thoughtful” about how AI is being used.

The head of the company said that Apple has already integrated artificial intelligence and machine learning into several of its products and services, pointing to features such as disease detection, accident detection and the ECG app on the Apple Watch. He added that Apple will be integrating artificial intelligence into its products on a “very thoughtful basis.”
