In Ryazan, the construction of a factory for the production of computer equipment, which is jointly owned by three companies – Yandex, Lanit and Taiwanese electronics manufacturer Gigabyte, has been completed.

Maxim Koposov, director of the company Promobit, told the newspaper Kommersant that a line of OpenYard servers that will be produced at the factory are presented on April 13. According to him, Yandex expects to declare the equipment in the register of the Ministry of Industry and Trade in order to gain access to public procurement. The company has attracted its developers to build servers, but most of the products will still be imported from abroad. However, “Yandex” will produce motherboards and manage SKD servers, which will most likely allow you to get the required number of points to enter the division’s register. According to experts interviewed by the publication, OpenYard’s share in the Russian market can reach up to 10%.

At the same time, Yandex told Kommersant that server production has not yet started and that the company “never was the one to control OpenYard.”
