One of the developers of Apple, the company Cirrus Logic, reported that the iPhone 15 Pro will not have new volume buttons.

It is noted that earlier there was the use of new points with vibration response instead of measuring physical numbers. However, plans have now changed.

Among the HPMS features we’ve discussed, the new product we’ve mentioned in previous shareholder letters as scheduled for release this fall should no longer hit the market as soon as it does.

we are currently seeing limited visibility into our customers’ expected customers for this product, we are removing the revenue associated with this component from our internal model.

— from Cirrus Logic statement

HPMS is one of the high performance chips used in the Taptic Engine. The iPhone 15 Pro is expected to feature these vibration motors to power the new buttons.

Apple is the owner of Cirrus Logic. It accounted for 79% of revenue in fiscal 2022.
