Emirates and Etihad Airways have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) as part of an expansion of an interline agreement that aims to boost international travel to the UAE. The Emirates press service highlights that this is the first agreement of its kind between the two largest airlines in the world.

Emirates and Etihad announce cooperation to boost tourism in the United Arab Emirates

As noted in the message, this summer the clients of the companies will be able to buy a single plane ticket for a flight to Dubai or Abu Dhabi with a convenient departure from another airport.

It is assumed that tourists from Europe and China will be able to plan a route departing from another suitable airport. For example, it will be possible to fly from Moscow to Dubai on an Emirates flight and back from Abu Dhabi on an Etihad plane. The ticket will be the same.

A multi-city flight service will also appear, allowing you to fly from any city and return to another within the airlines’ route network.

The press service notes that this is the second cooperation agreement between Emirates and Etihad. In 2018, the parties signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen aviation security, including the sharing of information and intelligence between companies in the UAE and outside the country.
