Sbertech, a subsidiary of Sberbank, filed an application with the national software registry to register its Platform V SberLinux OS Server server operating system, Vedomosti writes with reference to the application.
The application was submitted on April 27 of this year. Registration will make it possible to use the solution for the public sector, in particular, transfer departments to the services of the Gostekh platform, which is being developed by Sbertech.
The request states that Platform V SberLinux OS Server is a server operating system (OS). Such operating systems are used to manage infrastructure, provide hardware virtualization (a visual representation of information about the use of computing power of servers), as well as to implement cloud software and application services.
Server operating systems imply the simultaneous operation of many users or services, in connection with this, they are subject to more requirements in terms of reliability and fault tolerance, security, as well as scalability, explained Alexey Kovalenya, Technical Director of DataRu. newspaper.
We are talking about a cloud platform where Gostekh services will be implemented, said Sergey Kudryashov, a partner in the management consulting department of DRT (formerly a division of Deloitte in Russia).
- The launch of the Gostekh platform was announced in 2020, the government instructed Sberbank to create it. The platform was supposed to combine disparate state information systems used by departments.
- Gostech can be defined as a kind of marketplace where various developers place their products, and the client (department) can choose the necessary services.
