According to internal documents obtained by Insider, Burnham will add “intelligence” and a conversational interface to Astro that will allow it to understand and adequately respond to various situations in the home.
The technology will enable the robot to remember and understand what it sees, engage in a question-and-answer dialogue about its observations, and perform actions based on artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms.
Examples cited in the articles include Astro identifying potential hazards such as a burning stove or an inoperative faucet, alerting a homeowner, checking for a fallen person and contacting emergency services if necessary, searching for lost items and monitoring household activities. .
So far, Burnham is still in the early stages of development and has a long way to go before it can be integrated into a commercial product.
