The Polish holding Amrest, which owned 215 KFC restaurants in the Russian Federation, completed the sale of the assets of the Smart Service company, the value of the transaction amounted to 100 million euros, as reported on the holding’s website.
“The transaction has been closed and registered today with the relevant local authorities in accordance with the provisions of the applicable regulations. The final amount of the transaction, which Amrest has already received in full, amounted to 100 million euros.
The press service added that after payment of taxes on the transaction of approximately 4 million euros, the company will cease to have a presence on the Russian market.
Initially, the Polish Amrest wanted to sell the business to Almira LLC and even received approval from the Federal Antimonopoly Service. However, the sales contract was later terminated.
In April, the US holding company Yum! Brands has completed the sale of KFC’s Russian business to Smart Service. The deal included 70 restaurants, franchise rights, the company’s operating system, and the Rostic trademark.
After that, the former flagship restaurant of KFC in Moscow began to operate under the banner of Rostic’s.
