Google has announced an update to its inactive account policy.
In a significant version of the impact, that the company can keep the stored data if they are not consumed for 2 years. However, the entire account is now erased under the same conditions.
The new policy will come into effect in December of the year. So you still have time to re-login to your Gmail. Deleted email addresses will no longer be available for re-creation.
Account activity measures various activities: reading or accessing email, using Google Drive, watching YouTube videos, downloading apps from the Google Play Store, using Google, and so on. [The Verge]
