Wildberries has launched a new data processing center (DPC) in the Moscow region, it has become the largest object of the IT infrastructure of the online platform, the market said in a statement.
The data center is located on the territory of the company’s own logistics center in the Moscow region. Its total area is about 16 thousand square meters. m, and the total capacity of all the equipment is 3.5 MW, which is equivalent to the simultaneous operation of 2 thousand electric kettles.
The company notes that the new data center uses direct free cooling technology: servers are cooled with outside air without the use of refrigeration equipment. This improves the reliability of the infrastructure due to the simplicity of engineering solutions, as well as reduces the amount of electricity consumption, making work more environmentally friendly.
In addition to the main data center in the Moscow region, the company’s IT infrastructure is located in several additional commercial data centers. Wildberries plans to fully transfer the IT infrastructure to its own data centers.
