Popular Internet resource Digital Chat Station reports that the company is actively testing the periscope camera on a device powered by a processor with the model number “SM8650”.
This is the codename for the supposedly unannounced Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, and in turn, this SoC is expected on the OnePlus 12, the brand’s new flagship.
It is worth noting that the periscope camera is not just a fashionable “trick”. It offers higher quality optical zoom. This is achieved thanks to mirror prisms, which are designed to “bend” light, thereby increasing its focal length.
OnePlus 12 is expected to launch in early 2024.
