The Ministry of Digital Development is developing a bill to determine the list of critical information infrastructure facilities. The draft of the document has already been agreed and will be submitted to the State Duma in the near future.
This was reported to Vedomosti by government sources and IT companies. The newspaper did not give details of the document. The Ministry of Digital Development and the government did not respond to the request for the publication.
Today, CII includes state agencies and organizations in the fields of health, science, transportation, communications, energy, banking, fuels, and the energy complex, which have critical infrastructure facilities.
The publication’s experts believe that the liability of companies and even certain top managers for non-compliance can stimulate the acceleration of the transition to Russian solutions in CII. According to them, now approximately 80-90% of the IIC’s protection tasks are solved with the well-known software tools available.
In the spring of 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree banning the use of foreign software by government agencies and state-owned companies. They must switch to Russian products at the KII facility from January 1, 2025.
