Apple had previously lowered the frequency of the chip to increase battery life, but this strategy was revised in the latest iOS 18.1 beta.

In the Geekbench 6 test, the A18 Pro scored 3,601 points in the single-core test and 9,388 points in the multi-core test; this was only 4% slower than the M2 on the MacBook Air.

This makes the A18 Pro one of the most powerful mobile chips, almost on par with computers.

In addition, the iPhone 15 Pro processor also received a performance increase in this beta version, but the final results will become clear after the update is officially released.
