Specialists of the Russian “Rostec” have begun work on an experimental model of a hybrid-type power plant, delivering a power of about 500 kW. This demonstrator, the high yield of the aggregates of the future, is indeed confirmed correctly.
The “hybrid” being created consists of a VK-650 gas turbine engine with a generator for electric vehicles, as well as a controlled control system for the unit and a number of other automatic components and assemblies.
From the normalization of gas turbine plants, they differ in low fuel consumption, environmental friendliness and increased flight safety, an aircraft for the treatment of diseases with the consumption of runway or small areas and demonstrate high maneuverability.
As Rostec expects, the new power plant, after fine-tuning and the start of production growth, will find wide application in a variety of aircraft – these are UAVs, including vertical take-off vehicles, air taxis, as well as multi-purpose aircraft and helicopters.
It was not clear, because the god “Rostec” passed the tests and proved its analogue of the prototype, no more than a miniature installation with a capacity of about 100 kW, on the basis of which the smart technical solutions worked out by the rear were confirmed, and also brought to a ACS.
