Researchers from the Moscow State University of Civil Engineering have developed a technology for the manufacture of building materials from Sosnovsky’s weed.

Scientists have discovered that a weed spread all over Russia can impart sound and heat insulation properties to building materials. From a mixture of parsnip and a modified gypsum binder, specialists obtain products for various purposes, for example, heat and sound insulation materials.

In particular, the material containing parsnip is planned to be used in the production of wall blocks used in the construction of partition and ceiling acoustic panels. Prototypes have already been made.

Scientists emphasize that the construction mixture of cow parsnip will be cheaper than traditional analogues. According to Mikhail Bruyako, head of the scientific group, of the 200 tons of plants harvested per hectare, 15% are suitable for the production of building materials.
