Some Mac owners have started complaining that their USB hubs have stopped working after updating to macOS Sonoma 14.4.
The bottom line is that any connected peripherals through USB hubs and USB hubs, including monitors, are not detected in the external system. As a result, wired mice and switch are disabled and do not work with the Mac.
At the same time, connecting to a Mac at a more modern level or to a PC with Windows works, accessories function normally.
My MacBook (MacBook Pro 16 M2 Pro) is connected to a monitor (Gigabyte M34WQ 34″ IPS Ultrawide WQHD (3440 x 1440)) using a Thunderbolt 3 cable.
I have a keyboard and mouse connected to the monitor’s USB port. After updates, my keyboard and mouse are no longer detected on my MacBook. They worked fine before the update.

Some users were able to bypass the error by activating the toggle switch Allow accessories -> Ask for new accessories included in macOS. There is no other solution yet, and it does not help everyone.
We are waiting for a hotfix from Apple.
