Powered by OpenAI’s GPT-4 language model, Bing AI is now ChatGPT’s new native search engine. The announcement was made this Tuesday (23rd) during the Microsoft Build 2023 event, which brought some news focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI).
With integration, ChatGPT users will be able to use Bing AI as an add-on within the platform. the word is service begins to provide up-to-date answers based on calls made with internet access.
“ChatGPT replies can now be based on web searches and data, and will include quotes so you can learn more,” Microsoft says. The novelty is already available to subscribers of the ChatGPT Plus service, and will also reach users of the free version, but still without a specific date.
According to the company, the arrival of add-ons brings a big ally to Windows Copilot. Focusing on additional Bing AI services, the platform will also be natively integrated with Microsoft Edge.
Bing powered by new plugins
Another prominent announcement, referring to the partnership of Microsoft and OpenAI, was the cross-platform integration of plug-ins. The idea is precisely to increase the “add-on ecosystem with artificial intelligence”.
Developers will now be able to “create and submit plug-ins that work at both the consumer and business tiers, including ChatGPT, Bing, Dynamics 365 Copilot, Microsoft 365 Copilot, and Windows Copilot.”
With this, Bing’s plugin support has been expanded. Previously, only OpenTable and Wolfram Alpha plugins were available for the browser. With today’s announcement, the list has grown:

Other companies are also expected to release plugins for Bing soon, such as Spotify, Adobe, Canva, Trello, TeamViwer, Notable, Cloudflare, Trip.com, Shopify, Skyscanner, and more. All of these will be available in both Bing AI chat and the Edge sidebar, and on mobile.
