Ozon opened a new warehouse complex on the territory of the Sofyino logistics park in the Moscow region, the company said. The area of the fulfillment center is more than 76 thousand square meters. m, allows you to place up to 30 million goods of different categories.
The object became the sixth in a row for Ozon in the Moscow region. The warehouse provided around 4,000 new jobs in the region.
Ozon’s own investments in the opening of the center amounted to about 3.8 billion rubles. Most of the funds went to the purchase of high-tech equipment and the creation of our own IT systems for production automation.
The opening of the new facility will reportedly allow the company to “meet the growing demand from sellers and buyers in Central Russia for marketplace services.”
The start of operations is scheduled for May 30. The logistics center performs all kinds of work with online parcels: from the receipt of goods of various categories to the formation of packages. The warehouse has the capacity to process more than 900,000 orders per day.
