Andrey Danilin, General Manager of Technical Affairs, Supply, Security and ACS at Gorky Film Studio, noted that the state supports the domestic film industry, but that import substitution in this industry is “a complex process that can take years or even decades.” According to Danilin, the Russian film industry needs government subsidies.
Danilin also emphasized that the volume of the domestic film market can be reduced by “up to 50%”.
