Another possible reason to ignore Instagram is Instagram’s parent company: Facebook. Not only does the company care about the privacy of its users, Facebook is also regularly involved in various privacy scandals. Therefore, you may want to delete Facebook as well. It’s also wise to question the granting of certain rights to apps on your phone. In the past, such social media apps, including Instagram, have proven vulnerable to hacker attacks. Check Point researchers have spotted a leak that allows people to hack their accounts. In this way, it is possible to read, delete and send private messages, among other things. The leak is now closed, but this illustrates the risks of using an app like Instagram.

You don’t need to deactivate your account to prevent specific people from seeing your content. It is possible to block or restrict contacts through privacy settings.

You can temporarily suspend your account on the Instagram website.

It is not possible to deactivate your account from the Instagram app. To do this, you need to go to the Instagram website and log in to the service. This can be done from your computer or mobile device. Click or press your username in the top right and Edit Profile† Then select Temporarily disable my account and follow the on-screen instructions.

You can also remove Instagram photos from your profile without having to delete them. Archiving photos will cause them to disappear from your profile, but they will remain visible to you. You can archive photos by going to your profile in the Instagram app (bottom right of the screen). Press the option button, indicated by three dots. Then choose archiving (iOS) or Archive (Android).

If you delete your account, all your photos, videos, followers, comments and likes will be completely and permanently deleted.

You will be asked why you want to delete your account so that the developers can improve the service with your feedback. You should answer this question before deleting your account. Then you can press or click Permanently delete my account.

Removing it completely is also an option, but final really means final.

If you later want to start using Instagram again, you will not be able to create an account with the same username as before, and your old account will not be reactivated.

Do you still regret?

Unfortunately, after deleting your account, there is no way to recover your data or reopen your account. You will then need to create a new profile. This time you may want to create multiple accounts, for example one for work messages and one for personal posts. Fortunately, you can create and manage multiple Instagram accounts.
