Mac wave with M3: everything Apple is preparing for after the summer

Apple may release new Macs with M3 chip after summer; In particular, during October, as Mark Gurman reported, from bloomberg. The company, which launched new desktops during WWDC 2023 as well as a 15-inch MacBook Air with M2, seems to be planning announce up to three new models.

One of these Macs will 13 inch Macbook AirGurman says. It’s a bit of an odd strategy considering the company just launched a 15-inch model with the M2 on the market. But the version with a smaller screen size has not been updated for more than a year.

Finally a new iMac with M3 chip. Again, there are no details about its design or, in this case, screen size. However, it is likely that this is an update to the all-in-one Mac with a 14-inch panel and a new processor.

This will be the M3 chip, which will appear in new Macs in October.

One of the novelties of the M3 chip that may appear on new Macs is new manufacturing process of 3nm silicon. This will allow the overall chip to be more efficient and more powerful than its predecessor. And therefore provide the following equipment with better performance and better battery consumption.

Pro, Ultra and Max variants of the M3 chip, yes, they won’t arrive until next year. Note that Apple has just announced two new Macs with M2 Max and M2 Ultra chips. Well, it wouldn’t make much sense for the company to introduce a more powerful processor just months after putting up for sale two that are considered among the most powerful Macs in the company’s catalog.

We’ll have to wait until October to see if Apple finally announces those three aforementioned Macs with M3 chips. It’s not yet clear if the company is organizing an event to officially unveil them, or if it will do so via a statement instead.
