Two beautiful screens
Both phones have similar designs and specs, although if you’re looking for a huge screen, the Honor 90 already leads the way with its 6.7-inch screen. It’s also a slightly sharper display, but definitely much brighter (1,600 nits versus 1,000 nits for the Galaxy A54 5G).
There are also noticeable design differences. The A54 5G is more compact, but also has a slightly smaller screen. The overall design seems cleaner to us, especially due to the camera distribution, but it’s the Honor 90’s curved screen that really hits the spot. We believe that this decision is purely subjective.
Key difference in camera
In the booklet, the Honor 90’s 200MP camera should put the Galaxy A54 5G’s camera at risk, but the truth is that both smartphones offer results with clear and well-balanced photos.
The key difference is that the Galaxy A54 5G comes with optical image stabilization (OIS). Thanks to this feature, photos and videos captured on the Galaxy A54 5G have a higher level of detail.
In honor of truth

In Antutu and Geekbench tests, the Honor 90 performs slightly better than the Galaxy A54 5G. Also making its presence felt is that extra 2GB of RAM you’ll find on the Honor 90. Yep. It is true that on the Galaxy A54 5G you can activate the RAM Plus feature.but nothing like dedicated RAM.
It’s true that you won’t feel a drastic difference between one smartphone and another, but to be honest, the Honor 90 performs better.
Fast charging matters
Both smartphones have exactly the same battery capacity – 5000 mAh, which has become the industry standard. The key difference here is that the Honor 90 offers much faster charging at 66W compared to the Galaxy A54 5G’s 25W.
By pedigree
On paper, the Honor 90 is an excellent phone. You’ll simply get more for your money. So why is the Galaxy A54 5G the best-selling phone? Marketing will always be the answer, but we think Samsung’s photography pedigree is present in the Galaxy A54 5G. What’s more, affordability, especially in the US market, means there may not be much to choose from.
