Google CEO Sudar Pichai announced that the number of subscriptions to its cloud service Google One has reached 100 million.
We just surpassed 100 million Google One subscribers! We look forward to building on this momentum with our new AI Premium plan (launched yesterday), offering AI features like Gemini Advanced, as well as Gemini in Gmail, Docs, and more coming soon. https://t.co/m7zAVop7P6 pic.twitter.com/sMdwJeq0iU

Reaching that many followers meant a tough road for the Mountain View company, which included eliminating unlimited storage in Google Photos as one of its more aggressive strategies and which invariably resulted in several users (including those signing this note) choosing one from subscription plans.
On the most basic plan ($2 per month), Google One offers users 100GB of cloud storage via Google Drive, which can be used in apps like Photos or Gmail, among other apps.
Other subscription plans offer up to 2TB of storage ($9.99 per month), and generative AI features like email writing assistance or presentation suggestions will soon be added.
As of this writing, we found an offer to try out the AI Premium plan for two months, which includes 2TB of storage and generative AI features. The AI Premium plan already offers Gemini Advanced, Google’s equivalent of ChatGPT, but specifies that generative AI features will be added soon.
