After months of rumors and weeks of previews, finally nothing officially announced the phone (2a), its first mid-range mobile phone that can compete with Google and its Pixel 7a, as well as Xiaomi and its mid-range smartphones. The new mobile phone from the brand founded by Carl Pei focuses on design and software without sacrificing other features. All this for less than 400 euros.
One of the key features of the Phone (2a), we repeat, is its design. The company chose a similar aesthetic to the phone (2) and the rest of the brand’s products, with transparent and LED lighting system which is located at the top.
Specifically, this is activated when the user receives any notification or call on the phone (2a). Also to improve some features of various applications. For example, you could activate a countdown where the lights turn on as time runs out, or something similar, to check how much time the Uber driver has left until the pickup point.
This design is complemented 6.7-inch AMOLED screen which has a resolution equivalent to Full HD+, 1084 x 2412 pixels. It also has an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz, as well as a maximum outdoor brightness of 1,100 nits and a peak brightness of up to 1,300 nits. And all this with a 5000 mAh battery and, unfortunately, without wireless charging.
MediaTek processor and two 50 MP cameras.
In terms of performance, Nothing has chosen a MediaTek processor for this phone (2a). More specifically, for Dimension 7200 Pro. The company claims that this SoC is capable of delivering 13% faster performance than the phone (1) and is also 16% more efficient. At the same time, Dimensity 7200 Pro is accompanied by two versions of RAM: 8 or 12 GB, as well as two configurations of internal storage – 128 or 256 GB.
In photography, the Phone (2a) uses a dual camera, the configuration of which is identical to that of its older brother. We find, therefore, main sensor 50 megapixels, as well as ultra wide angle camera the same resolution. There’s nothing to highlight the fact that these cameras use Ultra XDR technology, developed by Google to more accurately represent shadows and highlights in images.
The Nothing Phone (2a) also features the same selfie camera as its big brother, with a 32MP sensor that can capture 27% more light than the Nothing Phone (1a).
