Next high-end phones to announce SAMSUNG There are new folding models on the market and everything indicates that they will become official in August. That doesn’t stop us from talking about it. Galaxy S23It will be the flagship of the brand in 2023. And contrary to what you might think, this device will not have a 200-megapixel camera.

Yesterday, the Korean firm announced a new sensor called ISOCELL HP3, by the above-mentioned decision. Rumors that the Samsung Galaxy S23 would use it to deliver an impressive brand in photography started almost automatically. It’s true that the 200 MP figure would be enough to fill a lot of headlines, but resolution isn’t everything in such components. And the truth is, scratch a little and it’s clear that this isn’t an element for high-end products.

What the Samsung sensor offers

The features of this component, which is designed for a mobile camera, are quite good beyond the resolution that allows taking pictures. gigantic size. However, they lag behind what would be expected from a high-end device that should compete with Xiaomi, Apple or OPPO to lead the mobile market in all its segments, including photography.

A few examples that make what we’ve said clear, even when compared to the Samsung Galaxy S22, the new HP3 sensor lags behind the important thing: getting the lowest possible quality and definition. The first of the examples is that the new sensor 1/1.4 inch, smaller than that integrated in smartphones of the previous generation: 1/1.33 inch. This means less light and detail.

Also, the number of pixels in the new component announced by Samsung 0.56μm, far from the 0.8 of the Galaxy S22. This reduces accuracy when taking photos or recording videos, among other things reducing color accuracy. So it seems pretty obvious that the company has a new 200 MP item. It is not designed for the new upper level for 2023.. So for the moment it is a mistake to believe that it is included.

Anything reliable about the Galaxy S23?

Not really, but there’s one thing that could be important: It looks like Samsung will stop betting on models with a different processor depending on the market. Therefore, the usual dichotomy already prevalent at the firm’s senior levels will vanish. And that’s good news because all users will have the same user experience. Also everything indicates that the selected chip will be made by itself, which is why we are talking Exynos. Other than that, little is known about what the smartphone of the future will offer.
