WhatsApp for iOS has been updated to add an important feature that will improve the quality of your photos. Latest beta includes ability to select default image and video quality that you share on the app. This will give users the option to send files at better (or worse) resolution.
The quality selector in files is inside the option Storage and Data in settings. Judging by the image posted WABetaInfoquality selector Offers two options for your standard and HD files. This feature will save you from having to select individually every time you share photos or videos in a message.
The first one is currently offered on WhatsApp and favors sending speed, so the file size will be smaller. On the contrary, if you want to share higher quality photos or videos, you should choose HD mode. The description warns that the size may be up to 6 times larger so delivery will take longer.
It’s important to note thate HD option does not preserve the original quality of your photos or videos.. WhatsApp will try to preserve the details, but will use algorithms to reduce the size. If you want to share a photo without changing the quality, you must select Document when sending it.
WhatsApp for iPhone makes it easier to send photos and videos
At the moment, WhatsApp offers the ability to choose the quality when sending photos or videos.. This option is located in the top menu and specifies the resolution in each option. When you send HD content, a small ID is added to the file in the chat window so your contacts know it before opening it.

One of the benefits of this new WhatsApp for iOS feature is that reduce the number of steps required when sharing files. If you are one of those who like to upload photos without sacrificing quality, you will never have to worry about selecting the HD field in every submission. Selector will respect the chosen option and use it in all content.
This feature may go unnoticed by the average WhatsApp user, such as the aunt who forwards Tweety images or end-of-the-world conspiracy theories. Leave this option Standard quality will be important so as not to overload the phone’s memory.. Otherwise, they will have to disable automatic file downloads.
There is a quality selector available in beta version of WhatsApp for iOS version 24.11.10.78. Those registered in the program will be able to access it through TestFlight. On the other hand, the beta version for Android has received this feature since Marchso it’s almost a fact that WhatsApp will offer it to all users in the not too distant future.
