Apple’s unusual week of presentations began with an update to one of its most iconic devices: iMac. The company announced an update to the 24-inch model, which now includes new M4 chipwhich gives the team new AI capabilities as well as some internal improvements.
In terms of design, the iMac with M4 is virtually identical to its predecessor. Apple’s All-in-One PC maintains that look with a rectangular screen surrounded by white bezels and a glass bottom. It also retains its slim thickness of just 1.15mm, as well as an aluminum base that allows the screen to be placed in different positions.
Apple also kept the screen size: 24 inches under the Retina panel with a resolution of 4.5 thousand pixels. The company now also allows users to choose a version with a nano-texture screen that can reduce glare and reflections; something ideal for placing equipment in brightly lit areas.

However, the star of Apple’s new hardware is the processor. The 2024 iMac includes M4 chip. Apple claims this processor is up to 1.7 times faster for everyday productivity and up to 2.1 times faster for graphics tasks compared to an iMac with M1. The M4 chip also features a new neural engine that allows for more accurate AI execution.
Of course, the device supports Apple Intelligence with features like writing tools, the new Siri, and more. They will be available from the date of sale, which will begin in November next year. In Europe, Apple Intelligence will be available for iPhone and iPad next spring, the company has confirmed.
In addition to the new processor, iMac with M4 now has basic version 16 GB of single memory (RAM). The device is available in a variety of storage configurations ranging from 256GB SSD to 2TB.
There’s another interesting change to the new iMac: a new 12-megapixel center camera with features like Center Stage to keep you centered at all times, or Desk View to show the user and desktop view at the same time.

The iMac can now be reserved on Apple’s website and will be available on November 8 at a price from 1519 euros. These are the different configurations available.
- iMac M4 with 8-core processor, 8-core GPU, 16GB RAM, 256GB storage, and two Thunderbolt/USB 4 ports: 1519 euros.
- iMac M4 with 10-core processor, 10-core GPU, 16GB RAM, 256GB storage, and four Thunderbolt4 ports: 1769 euros.
- iMac M4 with 10-core processor, 10-core GPU, 16GB RAM, 512GB storage, and four Thunderbolt4 ports: 1999 euros.
- iMac M4 with 10-core processor, 10-core GPU, 24GB RAM, 512GB storage, and four Thunderbolt 4 ports: 2229 euros.
Users can purchase the version with nano-textured glass for 230 euros more or choose other unified memory options.
