Apple’s new premium phone, the iPhone 14 Pro, will have thinner edges than the current generation. In a review comparing it to the iPhone 13 Pro, the design of the new device highlights the larger screen viewing area.

Another factor contributing to this feeling is the change of the old ‘notch’ which houses elements of the front camera and FaceID sensors. Now the items are presented in a more discreet format and with pill cuts.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen the iPhone 14 Pro design, as the latest images are based on detailed prototypes with the dimensions of the new device. The model retains practically the same width and height as the iPhone 13 Pro, revealing a thicker body.

The new pill-shaped ‘notch’ is speculated to be exclusive to the Pro models, which will feature a 6.7-inch display versus the regular model’s 6.1-inch. According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, another long-awaited innovation will be the arrival of autofocus for the front cameras. However, the Touch ID and periscopic lens camera, which is expected under the screen, should remain in line 15, which is planned for 2023.
