According to the journalist, Apple’s 2024 plans include the release of a smartphone called iPhone Ultra. The device, which does not have many details yet, would bring improvements to the camera, as well as faster processing of tasks and a larger screen. Gürman does not exclude the possibility that the mobile phone will have a major innovation: completely wireless charging, as the model will not have Lightning or USB connections.
If confirmed, the iPhone Ultra will join two other high-end Apple products that also carry the term “ultra” in their names: the Apple Watch Ultra (watch) and the M1 Ultra SoC (processor). But for now, the arrival of the new device has not been commented on or confirmed by major tech.
While the iPhone 14 series is currently on sale, Apple is also preparing its next smartphone family for this year. The iPhone 15 series is expected to be introduced in the last quarter of the year and may eventually bring USB-C charging support.
