The production of Apple’s new smartphone iPhone SE 4 in December 2022 was still a big question for many. As analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reports, the entry-level device even ran the risk of not seeing the light of day. According to that, Apple may be considering shelving the product or delaying its launch to 2024.
But in a new report, Kuo stated that Apple has taken a step back and has officially started production of the iPhone SE 4. According to the expert, the model will be “a minor modification of the 6.1-inch iPhone 14”.
OLED screen and 5G
The so-called smartphone will be the first phone to have a 5G modem that replaces Qualcomm parts and is developed in-house by the company, and will also feature an OLED display instead of an LCD display. However, the device does not support mmWave 5G.

[Update] Apple has relaunched the iPhone SE 4 and will use an in-house 5G baseband chip. For the foreseeable future, Qualcomm’s significant decline in Apple orders is an inevitable consequence. https://t.co/0MeZDFnbzg— ??? (Ming-Chi Kuo) (@mingchikuo) February 27, 2023
“The new iPhone SE 4 will be powered by Apple’s 5G chip, manufactured with a 4 nm process (similar to 5 nm), and will support up to 6 GHz as the host. My recent research has shown that Apple’s iPhone SE 4 “It will have an OLED screen instead of an LCD screen, and that will be the biggest change,” the analyst said.
In addition to the new OLED screen, one of the most striking points in the information given by Kuo is the new 5G chip developed by Apple. There is no release date for the iPhone SE 4 for now, but it is estimated that the device will be available to the general public in 2024.
