2023 will be an important year for Apple computers. The Cupertino-based firm is gearing up to update much of its catalog. new iMac, Mac Pro and MacBook Air. And, more importantly, with the transition to 3 nanometers in the next M3 chip.
Mark Gurman talks about it in Bloomberg this Sunday, noting that several of these machines will arrive between spring and summer.
Upcoming iMac update
iMac M1 was released in April 2021. Upgrading this computer is something that many have been waiting for a long time.. Something that highlights when you consider that some laptops already have various upgrades to this chip, while others have jumped straight to the M2 generation.
The colorful desktop is also the only all-in-one PC the tech company is selling since the 27-inch iMac is discontinued. Thankfully, the aforementioned journalist assures us that the new iMac is at an “advanced stage of development.” Aim for a release before the end of the year, but after the summer.
The standout feature of this iMac, which will retain its 24-inch size, is the M3 chip.. The third generation of Apple’s proprietary processors will mean a significant increase in the efficiency of this device, reaching 3 nanometers for the first time. And yes, everything indicates that it will retain the same color palette that we currently find.
Mac Pro and new MacBook Air raise their heads
In addition to the new iMac M3, Cupertino is also expected to unveil its first Mac Pro with its own chip this year. Computer for the professional segment, released in 2019, currently using Intel Xeon W chips.
