In previous years, Google had too much trouble keeping its new terminals under wraps until it was officially unveiled. Unfortunately (for them, of course), they didn’t manage to avoid leaks this year either. @OnLeaksIn collaboration with Smart Prizeshared Google Pixel 8 Pro First Renderswhich is expected to be introduced in the second half of the year.
In terms of design, the Google Pixel 8 Pro has several important innovations. The first thing that catches your eye is that the screen, which in previous generations had a pronounced curvature on the sides, now has an almost flat surface. On the other side, rounded corners are now more pronounced.
Recently, we have seen more and more manufacturers abandon curved panels, which were a trend a few years ago. Samsung, for example, stopped integrating them into the initial versions of the Galaxy S family. The reason? For some users, this curvature caused unwanted interactions when holding the phone; although there have been various solutions with software that have tried to avoid this.
Another key aspect of the front of the Google Pixel 8 Pro is that apparently the bezels around the screen are thinnerexcept for the bottom edge. I mentioned “obviously” because, as the leakers rightly point out, perspective and lighting in renders can be misleading in this regard. Therefore, it is better to wait for the official images to be sure.
In terms of dimensions, we are dealing with a device slightly smaller than its predecessor. According to data provided by @OnLeaks, the Google Pixel 8 Pro measures 162.6 mm. height × 76.5 mm. width × depth 8.7 mm. Its screen will be approximately 6.52 inches.
Let’s now delve into the main novelty of the Google Pixel 8 Pro: its photographic section. Although the triple camera is again integrated on the back, this time the three sensors are together in the same frame. But what really stands out is that in the lower right corner of the ledge, right below the flash, there is fourth sensor.
Unfortunately, at the moment the technical characteristics of the new component are unknown. IN 9to5Google play to theorize among the various possibilities, being macro sensor or one of depth the most likely options. In fact, it cannot be ruled out that the Google Pixel 8 Pro introduces an updated autofocus system that requires you to rely specifically on the fourth sensor.
If nothing happens, the Google Pixel 8 and 8 Pro will hit the market later this year. Be warned, we’re not surprised that those led by Sundar Pichai are offering a first look at the new terminals during Google I/O 2023 – in May – as happened with the Pixel 7 last year.
