apple will announce iOS 17 during keynote address WWDC 2023 will take place next June. In 2022, with the release of iOS 16, Apple made the decision that devices such as the original iPhone SE, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, and iPhone 7 and 7 Plus cannot be updated to the latest version of the operating system. In 2023 with iOS 17, the same thing will happen with some slightly newer phones.
Devices that went on sale between November 2015 and November 2017 will not be able to update to iOS 17, according to a Twitter account that has posted true rumors in the past when it comes to software.

If the rumor is true, these are the devices that won’t be able to upgrade to iOS 17 after launch in September 2023:
- iPhone 8
- iphone 8 plus
- iphone x
- fifth generation iPad
- iPad Pro 9.7″ first generation
- 12.9-inch iPad Pro 1st generation
All iPhones or iPads with chips from A5 to A11 can be hacked thanks to a vulnerability in butrom. Because it is read-only, it cannot be fixed with a software update. This will be the main reason why Apple will not update these devices.
Apple will introduce new operating systems, including iOS 17 next June 5, when keynote address which kicks off WWDC 2023, the company’s global developer conference that takes place every year in Cupertino, California.
