This is Google’s new update to its image search feature, Google Lens.

Google Lens is powerful image recognition software from the search giant that will help you learn more about any image on the web.

The problem is that its use is somewhat cumbersome and it doesn’t have a very useful feature other than the enjoyment of using it. This image recognition software has long been available on mobile devices, where it can be accessed through Google apps on iOS or the native camera app on some Android phones.

But last year, Google Lens arrived on the desktop via the Chrome browser and can be accessed by right-clicking on an image and then selecting “Searching for an image using Google Lens.”

Now, if you are going to use it on an image on a website, the browser will open the results page in a new tab.

Now, the novelty that came with the Google update is thatThe results will be displayed in a more modern panel that opens to the right of the page or image you are viewing. Only when you want to find the source of the image will Chrome open a new browser tab.

How to use Google Lens on your computer

Before the beginning: Google indicates that you should set Chrome as your default search engine and update it to the latest version.

Use Google Lens on your computer:

• Open the page in Chrome.
• Right-click the image.
• From the menu, select Image search using Google Lens.
• Search results are displayed on the right side of the screen.
• You can click the “Expand” button in the corner to open the results in a new tab.

On computers, Google Lens gives us the ability to search for an image, find its origin, see visual matches, get text or translation, and more. As you can see, this an alternative and more visual way to learn more about an image.

Plus, with these small updates, it seems like Google is trying to improve the functionality of Google Lens and not just be fun.
