Nvidia has announced that it will hire fewer new staff for now. CFO Colette Kress reported this when announcing quarterly results, noting that some time is needed to carefully train many new employees. CEO Jensen Huang also told Reuters at the time that the gaming market as a whole was slowing down.

The decision was communicated to staff in an internal message on Slack, and The New Indian Express captured the text. Ongoing application processes may continue, but standards will be raised and no more than 10 percent of interviewed applicants can be hired. This does not include candidates who might be hired in a diversity context. It is emphasized that this is a break and more staff will be hired in the future.
