Ikea is launching its own record player this fall. The product will be part of the new Obegränsad (Swedish for “unlimited”) series aimed at creators and music lovers. The series collaborates with Swedish music group Sweden House Mafia.

When it comes to specifications, Ikea now only informs us that the turntable has a “minimalist” and “robust” design. It will be compatible with Ikea’s Eneby speakers, which could mean Bluetooth support (although the Eneby also has a 3.5mm jack).

The Obegränsad series also consists of a table and a chair with built-in speaker legs and extendable shelves. Eventually, around 20 items will be part of the series.

This isn’t Ikea’s first attempt to launch its own record player. In 2017, the company announced the Frekvens (Swedish for “frequency”) series, which will also include a turntable. After all, the actress was not part of the series.

The Obegränsad collection will be available in all Ikea stores from this fall. Whether we also have to install the Obegränsad turntable ourselves is still unknown.
