Electricity, diesel and petrol prices continue to reach record highs every week, and this is seriously affecting the daily lives of Spanish men and women.
With summer already here, many families use the weekends for activities or travel, mostly to the coastal areas, and these abusive prices can frustrate their attempts to relocate.
That is why the OCU decided to hold research on the cheapest gas stations in Spain, including the Balearic Islands, and in turn also offers us a list of provinces with the best prices.
For this study, they were based on prices for over 10,000 petrol stations throughout Spain between February and Mayand their average prices for this period.
This data may have obviously changed until today, but it gives more or less an idea of which stations and regions we are interested in when filling up the tank for long trips.
What are the cheapest gas stations?
In it we see that BonÀrea is the cheapest network on diesel A and petrol 95.. This is a chain of supermarkets and service stations in Catalonia and neighboring areas of Aragon.
It is followed by the Plenoil, GM Oil (connected to GM ATMs) and Campsa Express networks of automatic filling stations, while Petroprix matches the previous ones, but only on diesel fuel.
Which regions have the best prices?
Lleida and Teruel are provinces where it is easier to find cheap gas stations.. On the other hand, less than 10% of gas stations in Asturias, Ourense, Gipuzkoa and the Balearic Islands offer prices 5 cents below average.
To determine why both options are the cheapest, OCU was based on the percentage of gas stations with clearly below average prices, at least 5 cents below.
How can I find out the cheapest gas stations in my province?
OCU has launched a web page that will allow us to find the cheapest gas stations within the range of choice and the address we want.
Among the options on the page itself we find specify the address, select the maximum radius for finding gas stations, select the type of fuel, as well as the capacity in liters of our tank.
