New Intel processors are ready to go into production: it will be Intel 4

At the IEEE VLSI symposium last month, Intel met with other developers, saying they were ready to “reduce semiconductor manufacturing nodes” that would have a significant impact on the market.

The company claims that new Intel 4 chips provide 20% performance improvement at the same power level or less, and approximately 40% performance improvement at the same frequency. This will be the 14th generation of the company, after the very promising premiere of the 12th.

During the discussion, IIntel also said that the Intel 4 node using EUV lithography is a first for the company, This will double the transistor density compared to an Intel 7 or 10nm ESF technology node.

The company’s information came as a bit of a surprise due to production delays in recent years. because 10nm process nodes could not compete with the current 14nm processwhich has worked well for the company for quite some time.

DigiTimes also reports that Intel 3 will start ramping up power in the second half of next year and will deliver an 18% performance boost over Intel 4.

The new Intel 4 node will be the center of the Meteor Lake series, the company’s latest 14th generation Intel Core processors.codenamed Meteor Lake, and Granite Rapids enterprise-class processors.

Intel Meteor Lake is planned to be the first processor designed as a chip for mass production using a flexible (tiled) architecture and Foveros 3D packaging technology.

AMD plans to offer a model designed with an APU and using integrated graphics with TSMC’s N5 and N4 workflows.

While Raptor Lake – the successor to the 12th generation Core Alder Lake series – has yet to be released, it looks like Intel plans to be fully prepared for the next or next release, ahead of what it has done previously.

Insiders also believe that Intel’s chips will compete directly with AMD’s new Ryzen 7000 series chips, which are very close to debut.
