Ever since the roads made room for bikes and cars, drivers and cyclists have been involved in all sorts of disputes (and, unfortunately, accidents). Some argue that they prefer to be fragile vehicles, others think the opposite.
The reality is that they are doomed to understand each other, because only in this way can we reduce road deaths, where cyclists are always worse, so the frame of a bicycle is the body of a cyclist.
Before moving on to the topic that concerns us today, let’s remind you of 20 rules of the road that every cyclist should remember in order to avoid traffic accidents. These are the ones that are approved by the General Directorate of Highway Traffic.

But back to the topic A few hours ago, the DGT posted on its official Twitter account how to overtake a cyclist. when we drive on a public road. The tweet was accompanied by a demo video.
Videofilmed by a DGT reconnaissance helicopter, it is shown how a car overtakes a bicycle standing on the side of the road, separating about three meters from the cyclist and occupying a little of the oncoming lane.
Problem? That the driver exceeds the solid line. For this reason, many people on Twitter have stated that overtaking is illegal and that if the traffic police see you, they can fine you.
The reality is that DGT didn’t randomly choose video.but it was an example of how you can overtake a cyclist, despite the solid queue. The Code of Highway Traffic and Road Safety allows overtaking a two-wheeler when crossing a continuous lane.
Provided that it is safe, if there are no vehicles in the oncoming lane and there is good visibility. Now you know that even if there is a continuous line, you can pass it if you safely overtake a motorcycle or bicycle. For everyone’s safety.
