Specifically, Apple launched iOS 12.5.6 update which fixes a kernel-level vulnerability that allowed malicious applications to execute arbitrary code with kernel privileges.

Specifically, this 12.5.6 update is available to download right now for the following devices:

  • Iphone 5s
  • iPhone 6
  • iphone 6 plus
  • ipod touch 6
  • iPad Air (1st generation)
  • ipad mini 2
  • iaadmini 3

If your system does not offer you an update automatically, you can force it by going to your device’s settings, then selecting “General” and finally accessing the “software update” option.

It is absolutely imperative that we update our mobile device to the latest version, not only to have the latest features and functions, but also to ensure that third parties cannot access our personal data and bank account.

Meanwhile, Apple is very close to introducing the iPhone 14 as well as iOS 16.
