What is a virtual SIM or eSIM?

Specifications on the Apple website confirm this. iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max do not support physical SIM cards. and instead have dual eSIM support.

For those of you who don’t know what we’re talking about, an eSIM is a digital SIM card that allows users to activate a cellular data plan without using a physical nano-SIM card. eSIM availability is rapidly expanding, but this technology is not yet available in all countries.

And that’s exactly why iPhone 14 models will continue to be available with a SIM tray outside of the US. In Spain, in case you’re wondering, it will be delivered with a regular SIM card, but this may be the last model to bring it.. Orange was the first to introduce it.

As you well know, the four devices will be available for pre-order this Friday, September 9th, before their launch on September 16th. If you’d like to learn more about the devices, here’s everything you need to know about the new iPhone 14.
