Starbucks decided to provide more information about odyssey, a new extension of the rewards program to increase NFTs. Each NFT has a point value based on its rarity, and as more tokens are earned, new experience rewards are unlocked. This one they can include a virtual espresso for making martinisan invitation to events at the Starbucks Reserve Roasteries and a trip to Costa Rica to visit one of the company’s coffee suppliers.
There will be a few ways to collect the tokens, which Starbucks has called “collectable digital stamps.” By completing the “travels” (mainly games and quizzes), you earn “travel stamps”. Of course, you can skip all that and buy “limited edition stamps” directly from the Starbucks Odyssey website.
Then you don’t even need cryptocurrency, where the company accepts credit cards. If you’re concerned about Starbucks’ potential environmental impact by adding a Web3 component to its rewards program, the company says Odyssey will use a proof-of-stake blockchain created by Polygon.
Brady Brewer, Starbucks executive vice president and chief marketing officer said:
Our vision is to create a place where our digital community can come together over coffee, participate in immersive experiences and celebrate the legacy and future of Starbucks.
