Some researchers have realized: tattoos low cost and without pain and bleeding. The tattoos can be applied by themselves and have one of the most diverse uses.
We’ve miniaturized the needle so it’s painless, but continues to set the tattoo ink effectively into the skin. This could be a way to not only make medical tattoos more accessible, but also open up new opportunities for cosmetic tattoos due to its ease of application.
Mark Prausnitz, the newspaper’s principal investigator
In medicine, tattoos are used for covering scars, cancer treatments, and even as a medical warning for some serious medical conditions. Some cosmetic products that use microneedles are already on the market for anti-aging. THE microneedles for tattoos, however, they remain a technological innovation.
Here, the team has essentially created microneedles smaller than a grain of sand, with the ink contained in a soluble matrix. Microneedles are made of tattoo ink and deposit it effectively on the skin. Microneedles can be pressed to the skin only once and then disappear by dissolving. They leave the ink in the skin after a few minutes without causing bleeding.
Microneedles are arranged in a precise pattern that acts like a pixel to create any image pattern. The band Aid it is applied to the skin and after a few minutes the microneedles dissolve, releasing the ink. Tattoos made with micro needles can last at least a year. A valid cosmetic and aesthetic solution without causing infections or pain.
The goal is not to replace all tattoos, which are often beauty works made by tattoo artists. Our goal is to create new opportunities for patients, pets and people who want a painless tattoo that is easy to administer.
