In a recent interview with Stratechery reporter Ben Thompson, Mark Zuckerberg has come back to talk – with a touch of resentment – about the products of Apple. According to the founder of Facebook, Apple products are too expensive.

Normally people who make hardware try to make one gain. If you’re Apple, you’re not limited to that. You make a product and try to squeeze out as much money as possible

he said. Then to add that you chose a different path:

I think it’s best when companies go into the industry and basically say, ‘We want to make the best hardware possible and we’re going to sell it for pretty much the same cost. I believe that this vision, this business strategy, aligns with the mission to connect people and reach as many people as possible to create an experience.

Meta recently presented a new high-end VR headset: the Meta Quest Pro, which costs more than € 1,700 in Italy. Zuckerberg explained that his company is already working on a second headset, the Meta Quest 3, which is cheaper. The price will be between $300 and $500.

Mark Zuckerberg recently defended his take on the metaverse, claiming that he was in a “philosophical competition” with Apple to determine the future of virtual reality.
