Wist Labs, a company from California, under the slogan “Step inside your memories” wants to make us “live” any video that is on our smartphone, but through Virtual reality (VR), through his app your camera3D and the use of a VR headset, which will enhance the immersive experience.

And that’s it, imagine that video that you keep with such love, like a video of your partner holding your baby. Currently, Thanks to this application, you can relive it as if you were living in that moment again.

“We give everyone the opportunity to immerse themselves in their memories and share them simply by recording a video,” explains Wist Labs co-founder Andrew McHugh.

Of course, please note that it is not yet available for Android and you can take the test if you have an iPhone pointing you to the list of users as it is in a very early testing phase.

VR application

How does this VR app work?

Well, to immerse yourself in your memories, just shoot a video or make a new record. The application then collects the necessary information to make a 2D clip look three-dimensional (3D).

“During the capture camerawe save color, depth, device position, sound and scene information”, McHugh explains. “Depth is determined using LiDAR sensors on iPhone and iPad Pro models.”Add.

After this conversion process, which lasts only a few seconds, user can play it with mobile AR or the Quest virtual reality helmet. You can even invite your friends or family to a multi-profile session to re-experience the sensations that the video made in you.

“I uploaded the ultrasound video to our VR app, shared it with my mom who lives in another country, and we were able to get through this moment together.“, explains its creator.

Logically and as you can see in the video examples, sIt’s quite obvious that it’s still in a very early testing phase, as the clips are full of glitches and distorted elements. However, the road to beta, while long, is a long road to improvement if we look at it in a positive way.

That’s why Wist Labs still in the process of funding which isn’t finished yet, but he wanted to leave us a little video test on how this big and simple project is progressing. Appendix.
