Microsoft is working on a built-in virtual private network for the Edge browser. Although the developer does not use the term vpn literally to describe the Secure Network feature, the website states that tracking of users is prevented through encryption. The service is provided by Cloudflare.

While SafeNet isn’t available yet – not even for beta testers – Microsoft already provides instructions for enabling the feature. For this you need to sign in with your Microsoft account, because the browser keeps track of how much data is used. Users get 1GB free per month. There is currently no option to purchase additional data, the company may not have set prices yet.

It’s unclear when Secure Network will be added to Edge. This is expected soon, as Microsoft has already created a support page.
