A Seattle woman, whose name has not been released, is… survived to an attempted murder thanks to his Apple Watch. She was buried alive by her husband, but thanks to the smart watch, she was able to alert the rescue and successfully report her position.

A horror movie story: the woman was gagged and tied up, then thrown into a well where she was to bury while he was still conscious. Her husband, Chae Kyong An, will be charged with wounding, attempted murder, assault and kidnapping.

The woman had contacted rescue services during the initial phase of the argument, when her husband threw her to the ground and left her alone for a few minutes, perhaps collecting what was needed to tie her up. At that time, the woman contacted 911 using the Apple Watch.

Kyong An later removed her watch and kicked it in an attempt to render it useless. But it was late now, the help had already left.

Kyong An managed to take his wife to a forest, where he then buried his wife. Fortunately, the police were able to quickly trace the cemetery and bring the woman to safety.

The woman had long ago filed for divorce and it is said to have been an argument over future wealth distribution that had sparked the man’s madness.
